Bio

Greg has been a Music Director, Pianist and Conductor for twenty-five years. His passion for musical theatre has allowed him to work on over fifty productions throughout Canada and the United States since 1996. He has travelled the world with Holland America Line (2010-2019) and Norwegian Cruise Lines (2019-2024), visiting all seven continents and over sixty countries. Most recently, Greg served as Music Director/Keys for the hit Broadway show Beetlejuice: The Musical aboard the Norwegian Viva.

Born and raised in Collingwood, Ontario (Canada), Greg attended Queen’s University in Kingston, earning a Bachelor of Music focusing in the areas of Music Education and Piano/Vocal Performance. Post-university, Greg moved to Barrie where he served as Resident Music Director for Talk Is Free Theatre for three seasons. Through his work at Talk Is Free Theatre, Greg was invited by Paul Sportelli (Music Director of Canada’s renowned Shaw Festival) to serve as Intern Music Director at the Shaw Festival for the 2006 and 2007 seasons.

As a Music Director, Greg has had the opportunity to work with many theatre companies throughout Canada and the United States, including: Lorraine Kimsa Theatre for Young People (Toronto), Theatre Collingwood, Sudbury Theatre Centre, Theatre Kingston, Thousand Islands Playhouse (Gananoque), Muskoka Summer Theatre (Gravenhurst), Theatre by The Bay (Barrie), and The Weston Playhouse (Vermont). He is also a highly respected vocal coach and adjudicator.

As a Pianist, Greg can be heard on two tracks (“The Prayer” and “What Is It About Her?”) from Jeff Madden’s debut recording Taking The Wheel. He is also highly in-demand as a soloist, studio musician, audition accompanist, and cabaret performer.

As a Composer/Arranger, Greg contributed original songs (with librettist and lyricist David Fanstone) for the musical Angie: The Last Lounge Singer Says Goodbye, which premiered in the fall of 2010 for Niagara Theatre Projects in Niagara Falls, Ontario.  He is also a composer of cabaret songs & incidental music. Greg’s instrumental and vocal arrangements have been performed by vocalists and musicians all over the world.

In the field of Music Copying & Score Preparation, Greg prepared musical materials for two works by Canadian composers Paul Sportelli & Jay Turvey: Maria Severa and Nobody Told Me. Greg also served as an editor of musical materials for the musical Anne and Gilbert, a staple of Canadian musical theatre.

From 2010 to 2019, Greg was a Band Leader and Pianist for Holland America Line, cruising across the globe. In mid-2019, he joined Norwegian Cruise Lines as the Assistant Music Director/Keys for the Broadway musical Jersey Boys on the Norwegian Bliss , and by February 2020 was promoted to Music Director/Keys. Greg’s additional music direction credits with Norwegian Cruise Lines include two more contracts for Jersey Boys, another for Kinky Boots on the Norwegian Encore, and most recently, Beetlejuice: The Musical on the Norwegian Viva. Greg’s travels have taken him to every continent and over sixty countries, where he has collaborated with some of the world’s leading musicians and entertainers.
